I feel so much more confident in my abilities, and I feel like I'm a step ahead on life because of the skills and knowledge I've acquired.
I was a high achiever before TKS, but I always felt a bit out of place because I wanted to do more than just get good grades and be accepted to a prestigious university. I did well in school, but I didn't have any particular way to apply my passion and potential. My life consisted of homework, working on my coding education startup, and extracurriculars such as musical theatre and basketball.
I've delved into AI by building computer vision algorithms to recognise road signs, handwritten numbers and grocery store fruits. I've consulted for Walmart, created a moonshot company to solve the pollination crisis, and worked on biofuel production using metabolically engineered bacteria. I've presented my work to my fellow Innovates, published Medium articles about emerging tech, and started a YouTube channel to document my projects. I also attended the Microsoft DICE grand opening in Toronto, and talked to the President of Microsoft Canada as well as Mayor John Tory about my synthetic biology projects.
